Introducing Josh Matlow
Josh Matlow has been a Toronto City Council member for Ward 12, Toronto-St. Paul’s, since 2010. Before that, he was a trustee for the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) from 2003 to 2010. He got elected to the City Council in 2010 and was re-elected in 2014, 2018, and 2022. In 2023, he ran for mayor of Toronto.
Josh has received many honors, like being named one of Toronto Star’s “Newsmakers of the Year” and “People to Watch.” He was also called Toronto’s Best Public Official by The Village Post and North Toronto Post Magazines, a “Pillar of the Community” by Town Crier, and one of the “Top Activists of the Year” by Now Magazine.
Josh has written articles, columns, and opinion pieces for newspapers such as the Toronto Sun, Toronto Star, Globe and Mail, and Town Crier, as well as Post City Magazines. He was also a weekly co-host on Toronto talk-radio stations AM 640 and CIUT. Josh wrote a weekly column called City Hall Diary for the Toronto Star and hosted a radio show on Newstalk 1010 called The City with Josh Matlow.
