Introducing Mike Schreiner
Mike Schreiner made history in 2018 as the first Green MPP elected in Ontario, representing the riding of Guelph. Re-elected in 2022 with an increased majority, Mike secured over 54% of the vote, showcasing his strong connection with his constituents. At Queen’s Park, he is known for his cross-party collaborations and tireless advocacy for climate action, local food and water initiatives, protection of Ontario’s farmland and green spaces, affordable housing, support for frontline healthcare workers, small businesses, and mental health. Before his political career, Mike was a successful entrepreneur and small business owner, pioneering the local food movement with initiatives like Local Food Plus, WOW Foods, and EarthDance Organics. When not working, Mike enjoys gardening, hiking, fishing, cycling, and spending quality time with his wife Sandy and their two daughters.
Having served as the leader of the Green Party, Mike has a unique perspective on the intersection of politics, the environment, and social justice. It is anticipated he will share his insights on how to build a more sustainable and equitable future, and how to effectively communicate these ideas to the public.
