Introducing Rachael Segal

Rachael Segal has spent years on Parliament Hill, working in various policy roles for Members of Parliament, Ministers, and Senators. Rachael has also led political organizations and worked as a Campaign Strategist on campaigns at all levels of government across Canada. While living in England, she worked as a political aide for one of the country’s two elected Mayors.

But, Rachael’s expertise goes well beyond politics. She’s got serious broadcast experience, having been a full-time television contributor for a major Canadian news network. Plus, she’s no stranger to radio, with experience at Newstalk 1010 in Toronto and CBC Vancouver as well. These days, you can catch Rachael on CBC’s Power and Politics, where she continues to share her insights and analysis with viewers on current events.

Talking about her academic achievements, she holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Victoria and is a lawyer with a Masters of Law (LL.M.) from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto.

Rachael has been an educator for decades. She is a university lecturer, most recently with the Joy MacPhail School of Public Policy.

In September 2023, Rachael launched her company, Beyond a Ballot, which takes a multi-partisan approach to moving Canadian women towards politics through media products, education, and community building. 

Rachael’s impressive background and her commitment to empowering women in politics make her a must-see speaker at the Next Campaign Summit 2024. You can expect her to share her insights on the challenges and opportunities facing women in the political arena, as well as strategies for getting more women involved in the political process. Additionally, she will share information about using digital tools in political campaigns.
